Explore Morocco’s deserts and kasbahs on this 5-day adventure from Marrakech to Merzouga.

8:00 AM – 10:00 AM

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

Your journey begins with a morning departure from Marrakech, crossing the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260m altitude). Along the way, admire the stunning landscapes before stopping at the legendary Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed ksar famous for its kasbahs and film appearances in Game of Thrones and Gladiator. After exploring the ancient village, continue to Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Morocco," where you can visit the Atlas Film Studios or the historic Kasbah Taourirt.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Todra Gorges – Merzouga (Night in a Desert Camp)

After breakfast, continue your adventure towards the Dades Valley, passing through the scenic Valley of Roses and the palm groves of Skoura. Stop at the dramatic Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs create one of Morocco’s most spectacular natural landscapes. After some free time to explore the canyon, continue towards Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, embark on a magical camel trek across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes, arriving at your luxury desert camp in time to witness a breathtaking sunset. Enjoy a traditional Berber dinner under the starry sky, accompanied by live drumming and storytelling.

Day 3: Exploring the Sahara Desert (Night in a Desert Hotel)

Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes, an unforgettable moment in the Sahara. After breakfast, return to Merzouga on camelback or by 4x4. Spend the day exploring the desert landscapes, visiting the Khamlia village to listen to Gnawa music, and discovering the fascinating fossil mines of the region. You’ll also visit a nomadic family, learning about their traditional way of life. In the afternoon, relax in your comfortable desert hotel with stunning views of the dunes.

Day 4: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Boumalne Dades

After breakfast, leave the desert behind and travel through the Draa Valley, home to Morocco’s longest river and ancient kasbahs. Stop in Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, where you can explore its traditional souk. Continue the journey through desert landscapes, reaching the beautiful Dades Valley, known for its red rock formations and kasbahs. Take a scenic walk in the Monkey Fingers Canyon before relaxing at your charming riad. Overnight in Boumalne Dades.

8:00 AM – 10:00 AM

Day 5: Boumalne Dades – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

Enjoy breakfast while admiring the panoramic views of the Dades Valley, then begin the return journey to Marrakech. Pass through Ouarzazate once more, with an optional visit to the Kasbah Taourirt or the Cinema Museum. Drive back through the High Atlas Mountains, arriving in Marrakech by late afternoon.
